Whipping up a side of garlic mashed potatoes is always a great way to go. Are you surprised that potatoes are considered an aphrodisiac? Back in the days of Shakespeare, the potato was known as the “apple of love”. Then there is garlic that has always been thought of as a potent aphrodisiac that ignites a person’s passion. I can vouch for that, since I am a huge fan of cooking with garlic!
Next time you need to make a simple sexy side dish, go for the garlic mashed potatoes.
GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
Ingredients:
1 medium head of garlic
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup of milk
Sea salt and pepper to taste
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Drizzle garlic with olive oil, then wrap in aluminum foil. Bake the garlic in a preheated oven for 1 hour. Smell the aroma!
Bring a large pot of sea salted water to a boil. Add potatoes, and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Drain, cool and chop. Stir in butter, milk, salt and pepper.
Remove the garlic from the oven, and cut in half. Squeeze the softened cloves into the potatoes. Blend potatoes with an electric mixer until desired consistency is achieved. Serve up and savor the flavor.
